Kong: Skull Island released its second and what could possibly be its final movie trailer today, November 17th, and it contained more than what we expected.
Following on from yesterdays announcements, which included two movie posters both highlighting the enourmous presence Kong imposes and teaser footage which left nothing but a lot of unanswered questions, a full length trailer was released earlier today. The over 2-minute long trailer contains scenes that we have already seen in the original trailer but is packed with new unseen footage and more importantly scenes of Kong in action.
The trailer opens up to the sound of Bad Moon Rising by Creedence Clearwater – which to any Supernatural fan reading this will have a guilty pleasure moment. We are then treated to an array of different scenes, including, Kong causing massive damage and destruction, magnificent shots of Skull Island, drama and suspense between the characters and even some comedy moments.
Teaser footage that had been released yesterday revealed that there was more on the island than just Kong, from gigantic skeletons to a massive creature emerging from water. Answers to all of this were given in the trailer as a discussion of the “monsters” existing on the island was discussed.
Overall the new trailer is fantastic. We get to see plenty of Kong doing his thing along with what else is on the island. However, did we get to see too much? The new trailer is in no doubt excellent and wants us all here to go and see it but we cannot feel that this could be a movie that gave all of its good plot points away in the trailer. Only time will tell. Kong: Skull Island is due to be released in theatres March 2017
