What else do we know about Maze Runner: The Death Cure?
It has been a long wait for Maze Runner: The Death Cure. Originally set to be released on February 17th, 2017, production had to be postponed due to Dylan O’Brien suffering a serious injury while filming. Den of Geek covered the news when 20th Century Fox decided to ultimately push back the release date by almost a year.
Official promotional posters have also been released.
Is Maze Runner: The Death Cure something that you should go see?
Neither of its two previous instalments has fared well, with mixed reviews overall. The first instalment has been described as a better than most young adult book-to-film adaptation. That, unfortunately, can be taken as it’s a good movie but can just as easily be taken as its good compared to other similar attempts but still poor.
In the sequel, critics slammed it even worse. Described as going too far off course from the source material and not enough character development the movie was rated lower than the original. But, there are also plenty of reviews from both critics and your average viewer who will praise both movies highly.
The Maze Runner franchise is your almost perfect example of a ‘sit on the fence’ type scenario. Some of you will love it and some of you will probably hate it. It’s a 50/50. The best advice would be to make your judgement on seeing the final instalment based on what you thought of the previous instalments. If you enjoyed them then you will probably enjoy this one too and if you didn’t then there is a good chance you won’t like this one either.
