“Thor: Ragnarok” Reveals New Image and Plot Synopsis

Details of the new “Thor: Ragnarok” movie was announced on the official @Thor Twitter account yesterday, 5th January.

“Thor: Ragnarok” will be the third stand-alone movie about the Asgardian with “Thor” (2011) and “Thor: The Dark World” (2013) preceding it. Currently, Thor has not been the most well-accepted movies from the Marvel Cinematic Universe as they have struggled both commercially and critically but there are high hopes for the latest installment.

Little has been released regarding any plots points or media but yesterday it was announced on their official twitter page that a new photo and synopsis were released.

The image revealed details actor Chris Hemsworth, playing the role of Thor, and director Taika Waititi in deep discussion on set. You can see the image below:

What is most exciting is the synopsis that was released which is detailed below:

“In Marvel Studios’ Thor: Ragnarok, Thor is imprisoned on the other side of the universe without his mighty hammer and finds himself in a race against time to get back to Asgard to stop Ragnarok – the destruction of his homeworld and the end of Asgardian civilization – at the hands of an all-powerful new threat, the ruthless Hela. But first, he must survive a deadly gladatorial contest that pits him against his former ally and fellow Avenger – the Incredible Hulk!”

A showdown against the Incredible Hulk is the stand out point for us in the synopsis. These two powerful, god-like beings going head to head in combat should be nothing but awe-inspiring.  Other facts we already know is the ruthless Hela shall be played by Cate Blanchett, Tom Hiddleston will return once again as Loki and one of the most anticipated characters Valkyrie will be introduced, played by Tessa Thompson.

What do you think of the released image and synopsis? Are you looking forward to a Thor v Hulk showdown? Leave a comment below to let us know your thoughts.
