Eric Kripke urges fans to rally behind as Timeless Season 2 may be in doubt. The time travel show is branded a “bubble show.”
Eric Kripke sent out, via Twitter, a heartfelt letter to fans of NBC Timeless explaining why the show may be in doubt for a second season despite being reviewed highly. In his Twitter post (full post can be viewed below) Kripke explains that the show is a bubble show and that the show or may not come back next year.
He explains that despite all the good reviews and DVR ratings what is most important, and what ultimately makes a show survive, is the live viewer ratings. Despite all of the good reviews and figures the live viewer numbers are just not cutting it, which could mean that when it comes to deciding whether or not to renew the show for a second season it could get the chop.
Kripke goes on to explain that if the show does indeed get cancelled after only one season there is not much point in starting any save-the-show campaigns, as the decision has already been made and unlikely to be overturned. Therefore fans need to help the show now by doing everything they can by making sure they watch live, telling their friends about it and spreading the word by sharing this message.
NBC still has several weeks to decide on whether to renew the show for a second season. Whether or not the network decides to renew the show, as stated by Kripke’s message, will most likely depend on those live viewer numbers.
Will you take up Kripke’s message and watch live? Do you think the show will be renewed or is Timeless season 2 doubtful?
