Are you looking for something to tune into tonight? Are the kids out with friends and you have the first peaceful night in on a Friday night? There are a few standout programs to tune into this Friday.

Netflix drops Altered Carbon

Let’s start with a new TV series. Netflix drops Altered Carbon today. The series is based on a novel, but there are plenty of things changed to keep it exciting. In fact, Hiro Kanagawa’s character wasn’t even in the books!

The fantasy series will have 10 episodes and all are dropping on the streaming platform at once. It’s your perfect binge for the weekend.

Try Calvary for Comedy

If you want a dark comedy, Calvary is something to give a go. The movie is about a rural Irish priest, played by Brendan Gleeson, who’s parishioners start seeking revenge and threaten to kill him. He needs to sort out all his affairs in a week.

There are plenty of familiar faces in the movie, including Aiden Gillan and Chris O’Dowd.  You’ll spend the whole movie trying to figure out who is trying to kill him, because it’s not revealed until the end!

Tune in at 11:05pm on BBC Two.

Comedy/Action with King Arthur: Legend of the Stone

If you’re a fan of Lock, Stock & Two Smoking Barrels and the Oceans franchise, you’ll enjoy King Arthur: Legend of the Stone. Charlie Hunnam stars as the titular character and his British accent will through you off at first if you’ve binge-watched watched Sons of Anarchy first!

It’s another movie with plenty of familiar faces. Expect to see Aiden Gillan, Eric Bana, Jude Law and even David Beckham throughout the movie. This isn’t your typical King Arthur fairytale and is even suitable for the older kids.

The movie airs at 8pm on Sky Cinema Premiere.

Get Mystery and Suspense with Requiem

For those who prefer a little thriller with their mystery, Requiem is a mini-series to consider. It premieres tonight and will star Lydia Wilson from Ripper Street. She plays Matilda, a cellist who is haunted by her mother’s suicide and the disappearance of a young girl decades earlier.

Brenden Coyle joins the cast as a retired cop, while Richard Harrington, Sian Reese-Williams and Tara Fitzgerald all play the townspeople, who you’re not sure if you can trust.

The show premieres at 9pm on BBC One.

Get Your Politics Update in Style with The Last Leg

The Last Leg returned last week. Adam Hills, Josh Widdicombe and Alex Brooker host the comedy program, where they discuss the news of the week live. You’re encouraged to tweet in your responses throughout the night (and even the week) and follow up with any of the questions asked.

This week’s guest star is Stephen Fry; a man known for his comedic works. This is one of those things where you can find out the latest happenings and hear people who likely have the same opinion as you over some of the most ignorant and infuriating topics.

The episode starts at 10pm on Channel 4.

That’s your Friday night organised for you. Tune in tomorrow when we’ll give you an idea of things to watch over the weekend!
