CW announced yesterday, January 8th, the return of the recently cancelled drama ‘Constantine’ as an animated series.

An official announcement via Twitter that ‘Constantine’ will return as a reanimated show and will air on the CW Seed was announced yesterday. ‘Constantine’, which is based on the DC comic book series ‘Hellblazer’, was recently cancelled in May last year by NBC after only one season due to a lack of following.

The show itself is centered our main character John Constantine who is haunted by his sinful past and in turn struggles with his faith. He is then thrown into the task of saving humanity from the evil forces that dwell in the shadows. Matt Ryan, who originally played the role of Constantine in the NBC series and appeared in a guest appearance of ‘Arrow’, is set to provide the voice of Constantine in the animated series. It is reported that there are currently five to six episodes scheduled to be created with each lasting approximately 10 minutes each.

‘Constantine’ will join the likes of fellow DC Comics ‘Vixen’ on the CW Seed along with a whole host of other shows on the small screen as the CW renewed all of its existing shows from last year.
