Back in October 2016, we saw the show return for a one-off celebrity special which was hosted by Stephen Merchant in the aid of Stand Up to Cancer. The show is now scheduled to air a full series of 20 hour-long episodes, all to be hosted by Ayoade who will, no doubt, bring his comical wit and charm to the show.
Filming of the new series is poised to take place in Bristol where a purpose-built maze has been designed and constructed for the show with the original designer James Dillon reported to being part of the work in constructing the set.
Originally the structure of the show was that six contestants worked as a team by putting their mental and physical skills against a variety of tests to collect crystals as they made their way to the crystal dome. The new series is expected to follow this original approach with possibly some slight differences.
Currently, details of how to become a contestant on the game show are not yet available but for those who want to put themselves to the test to see if they can take on the maze you can make your way to the live attraction in London.
