If you’re a fan of Disney Parks and Star Wars then you are going to love this. Disney has confirmed the date of the official Disney Star Wars Land. Sadly it’s a long way off.

Fans will have to wait until 2019 for the park to officially open. An announcement via twitter and their official site broke the news that the Star Wars-Themed lands will open in 2019 at the Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California, and Disney’s Hollywood Studios in Orlando, Florida.

Disney CEO and Chairman Bob Iger was the one to make the announcement with the official site saying;

“Our new Star Wars-themed lands at Disneyland park and Disney’s Hollywood Studios will be opening in 2019!”

Fans will be rejoicing at this news as the announcement to construct the theme parks was made back in 2015 and since then fans have been eagerly waiting for an official opening date.

The construction is to be the largest ever expansion done and once completed fans will be able to see their favourite Star Wars characters stories come to life, visit a never-before-seen planet along with a signature attraction which involves letting you take the controls of the Falcon at each location.

Further news and information will be released as work is completed on the expansion as we get ever closer to the opening date.

On another note, the new Avatar attraction was also given an opening date of May 27th at the Disney World’s World Animal Kingdom resort.
