Super Bowl is a time for big game moments, half time shows and adverts. The Handmaids Tale Super Bowl Ad proved to be a big moment as it got a big reaction by fans.

The Handmaid’s Tale is a Hulu original series set to premiere later this year on April 26th and is a tale set in a dystopian future of how women, under a dictatorship of fundamentalist, are forced to live as a concubine.

The series is based on the book, of the same name, by Canadian author Margaret Atwood and the latest trailer realised during last night’s super bowl ad got a big reaction from fans.

Fans took to social media to describe their reaction to the latest trailer which can be described as both disturbing and exciting.

Lines from the trailer such as:

“Better never means better for everyone”

Sent shivers down our spines as the commander describes how he is trying to make the world “better”. Lines such as this certainly give a disturbing view of what is to come in the series.

Comparisons to the current political climate in America and the show have been voiced with some fans taking to social media to say it’s a guide on how to survive on what is to come.

Last night’s super bowl was shrouded in political adverts, whether The Handmaids Tale Super Bowl Ad was also intentionally realised to go along with this trend or not remains unclear
