‘Justice League’ To Have Different Movie Tone

Ben Affleck gave some insight into what is coming for DC fans, when, during an interview, he revealed that the upcoming Justice League movie has had a bit of a tone shift.

During an interview with Cineplex Magazine Affleck discussed many topics, mainly in regards to his most recent movie, in which he starred, directed and wrote, Live by Night. Other topics were discussed and it was not surprising that the upcoming Justice League movie and the next Batman sole movie was brought up.

In the interview when the topic of the Justice League was brought up he is quoted to saying that;

Justice League, you probably saw the teaser that came out of Comic-Con; I thought it is nicely emblematic of the kind of minor tone shift and segue in storytelling,”

When discussing how the movie would compare to the 2016 Batman v Superman movie Affleck responded with;

“It’s a little bit lighter, the characters are a little bit more comfortable in themselves, so they can express a wider array of emotions. And there are just more people in it, so it’s more fun. It’s all of these different characters bumping up against each other and the team dynamic offers a lot of dramatic possibility.”

From this, we can gather that the Justice League will not follow in a similar suit to the very dark and brooding tone that was set by Batman v Superman. Whether this change is going to make it a success compared to the Disney/Marvel movie franchise is obviously what the movie bosses will be hoping for as both Warner/DC last attempts at movies, Batman v Superman and Suicide Squad, were not as successful as they had hoped for. All we can probably say for certain just now is that they have listened to fans as the movies did receive some very mixed reviews, but, most notably was the dark tone that it had set for itself.
