The Avengers are set to come to Scotland as Marvel and Disney agree upon a deal which will see the 2018 blockbuster movie ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ be filmed in parts of Scotland.

Glasgow, Edinburgh and many other key parts of Scotland will play host to the Avengers which contain stars such as, Robert Downey Jr, Samuel L Jackson, Chris Hemsworth, Scarlett Johansson and Chris Evans, as they shoot key parts of their new movie ‘Avengers: Infinity War’ after a deal between the Marvel and Disney collaboration was agreed on.

Filming is expected to begin at the end of February this year and is expected to be a large boost to the Scottish economy. In 2011, Brad Pitt’s ‘World War Z’, had key scenes shot within Glasgow which boosted the Scottish economy by £3.3 million in only 17 days worth of filming. Filming of Infinity War has been reported to easily overshadow that amount as filming is expected to approximately last a total of six months and boost the economy by £10 million.

As one of the most highly anticipated movies to come fans will no doubt be excited at the news of possibly being able to spot their favourite heroes, such as Iron Man or The Incredible Hulk, in the flesh, possibly even running down their very own neighbourhood.

Other possible stars who may make an appearance are Benedict Cumberbatch, who played the role of Dr. Strange in the 2016 ‘Dr. Strange’ movie and Scotland’s very own Karen Gillian as Nebula from the 2014 ‘Guardians of the Galaxy’  movie is also rumoured to be taking part.

What do you think of the news? What locations do you think will be used in the filming? Will you try and spot your favourite hero? Leave a comment below to let us know your thoughts.
