The Lion King is set to return. Disney confirms that The Lion King will return re-imagined with director Jon Favreau.

Following the success of The Jungle Book and Cinderella, which was released in April 2016, the 1994 classic has been set in the pipeline to receive its own reimagining. Favreau who directed The Jungle Book had already hinted via twitter of the news, with Disney shortly following an announcement to confirm the news.

At present no release date of the movie has been revealed, but there is a confirmation of songs from the original animation.

The Lion King is the fourth Disney film to return to the screens, with Beauty and the Beast set to be released in March 2017.

What did you think of the announcement? Are you happy with The Lion King and other Disney films returning or do you think the films should be left as they are?
