With the end of 2016 fast approaching, we take a look at the films that are set to be realised next year. This is FanNews and this is our top 5 most anticipated films in 2017.
5) ‘Thor: Ragnarok’
Thor: Ragnarok is the third Marvel instalment of the Thor Franchise and is set to return in November 2017. The plot of the movie has been rumoured since The Avengers: Age of Ultron.
Rumours that Ragnarok will play the most significant role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe have spread and the Infinity Stones, which have appeared throughout the Marvel movies, are expected to be the centre plot of the movie.
All the hype and theories that have circulated the movie is why it has made our list. We here are all eager to see what route the movie takes.
4) Star Wars: Episode VIII
Star Wars: Episode VIII is due to released at the end of 2017 in December. The end of 2015 saw the return of the Star Wars franchise in its full glory. Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens gave us new heroes and villains along with some old favourites.
The plot has remained fairly secret; however several plot leaks and rumours have circled the internet and given us a lot to think about. What we are certain of at FanNews is that Rey will continue her epic journey alongside Finn, Poe and Luke Skywalker.
Will the reveal of Rey’s parents happen? Will we find out more about Supreme Leader Snoke? There are plenty of questions we are all hoping to see answered at the end of next year.

3) Wonder Woman
Wonder Woman will appear on the big screen at the beginning of June 2017. This is not the first time Wonder Woman, played by Gal Gadot, has graced our screen. The 2016 Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice was when Wonder Woman made her debut appearance.
We here at FanNews have the opinion that the Batman v Superman movie did not live up to all the hype we were waiting for however Wonder Woman did not disappoint.
Since her debut performance we have all waited eagerly for her own movie which most thought would never happen.
2) Lego Batman
When the trailer for Lego Batman was released we all watched with joy and excitement. The majority of us here are all Lego fans and we are all superhero fans, it felt like this movie was made specifically for us. Due to be released in February 2017 Lego Batman is a spin-off of the 2014 The Lego Movie.
The film follows a similar structure from The Lego Movie regarding both animation and comedy writing which really is all the reasons we need for it to make our list.
1) Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2
Star Lord and his band are back. Following on from the hugely successful 2014 Guardians of the Galaxy the sequel is set to return in May 2017.
Continuing from the original film, the quest to discover the true parentage of Peter Quill will no doubt be the main plot along with some action packed humour.
